Philips Hue Camera and door sensor have officially launched

Following the announcement of the Matter update for Philips Hue devices. The company has announced a series of interesting information for users about the upcoming Philips Hue devices. Notably, the first launch of Philips Hue security cameras. It not only expands the Philips Hue smart home solution. But also brings modern automation to your home.

Security cameras are part of a new security system (Philips Hue Secure) the company is developing. This is a DIY security system that uses new cameras and contact sensors. They will work in conjunction with your lighting system to ward off thieves trying to break into your home.

1. Philips Hue Secure Camera

Philips Hue is expected to launch two camera versions: indoor and outdoor cameras with two basic colors: black and white. Philips Hue Secure camera uses Wifi connection, Full HD 1080p image quality. Integrating two-way conversation, detecting people, vehicles… At the same time, equipping a siren is indispensable for a smart security system.

Philips Hue Secure cameras will be available in both wired and battery-powered versions for security cameras. As well as mounting accessories for the device. The device will also receive Matter updates like other Philips Hue devices. However, users will need to wait more because there are currently no cameras that meet Matter standards.

2. Philips Hue Secure door sensor

Philips Hue’s new door sensor is designed with 2 basic colors: black and white.

The product will connect via Zigbee protocol and requires Hue Bridge to operate. Sensor with integrated module and a small magnet helps detect open/close status. Besides that, the device also sends notifications to the user and activates automation depending on the initial settings.

The Philips Hue Secure door sensor measures 7 x 2.2 x 2 cm. Battery life using CR2 batteries can be used for up to two years.

The product will be launched with an expected price of 39.99 USD / 1 unit and 69.99 USD / combo of 2 units.

3. Update apps with Philips Hue Secure

Philips Hue Secure is a new feature for the Philips Hue security system. This will be where you can manage settings for cameras and door sensors, or set up automation and manage notifications.

This feature allows users to activate automations (Actions). To perform light or sound alarm functions in an automated way with security devices in the Philips Hue Secure collection.

Security features can be functionally unlocked and used with a paid Hue Secure subscription. With the Basic plan, video series of events are stored in the cloud for 30 days and even up to 60 days with the Plus plan:
