The switch has a modern design, offering various colors to match the wall color in different locations within the house.
The Aqara Wall Switch Z1 is equipped with additional scene buttons and is classified into various types:
- Button switch: 1 physical button
- Button switch: 2 physical buttons
- Button switch: 3 physical buttons
- Button switch: 3 physical buttons + 1 scene button
The scene button has three modes: press once, press twice, and press and hold.

The Aqara Wall Switch Z1 also supports Home Assistant through ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation) or Zigbee2MQTT. It can easily connect to existing custom devices (ZHA) or (Z2M) to integrate this device into Home Assistant through these connections.
Comparison of Aqara Z1 Wall Switch and Aqara’s In-Wall Switch Series
When placed alongside previous Aqara smart switches, such as the original Aqara (D1/H1/Q1/E1) or the newer Aqara H1M Switch, many similarities and comparisons can be made.
First and foremost, the smart switch series D1, H1, E1, and now Z1 are all produced for the Asian and European markets.
The Aqara Z1 Wall Switch is distinguished by a single wireless switch always positioned on the left side of the switch. Regardless of whether you choose a 1, 2, or 3-button switch, the wireless scene switch is used for automation (scene switch) within the ecosystem and applications.
Furthermore, it features a sleeker and smoother design compared to previous versions with a more square-shaped body. The colors are also well-matched, including green, gray, pink, and snow white, combined with a white or black background.
